Edit : du coup j'ai du retard sur la lecture des XML j'ai trouvé pas mal d'infos sur les scripts dans le XML du BIC il y a plusieurs versions du script 14 jusque v 2.2.
Impossible de savoir si la version doit être modifiée ou si elle est déjà présente.

Pour moi ça ne sert qu’à l’affichage, en associant une réponse du calculateur avec un numéro de version.

I am the guy from Romania that roropastis was talking with and shared some of my exchanges with you ( I am not the guy that is asking for money and has put the movie but i know him very well).
Roropastis invited me to discuss the R-Link RS Display with all of you on this forum.
I see you are all concentrating on the script from the MIU.

Unfortunately you are in the wrong direction because: if some of you have already an RS with RS display I invite you to read the MIU/BIC configuration and see that the script used is nr.1 and not 14.
Further more, take a look in your MIUs with DDT or DDT4all or whatever and see that there is a section with scripts. For those of you for which is not working to apply it, is because you do not have it actually in you BIC (it will be a message for number 14: "No Software"). For those who have it it will apply but still will not work.

This is in fact because the RS script si an old one and it was used for RS Monitor 1.0 ;) - the small screen. Only script 1 is used for Megane RS after 2012 with R-Link.

I already tried all that you did and also tried with VINs from RS cars that have the RS Monitor already activated and so on. It will not work. I put the RS Slots and so on.
The slots are different from car to car because they reflect the options and settings that have already been done by the owner but never the less you can use any. It will not work no matter what you do.

What the other Romanian gut did is something else, he read the hole R-Link memory with a special tool and written it directly on another display.
This is because normaly by DDT or other tools the R-Link can be configured with RS Display only once in the factory! It is with or without and normaly you cannot change it.
It is changable only on special units used for research and not for production ;).

Still this does not mean it cannot be done but :) There are 2 ways, one is the way the other guy did it, the other is the way i will do it.

In fact as you all know, the R-Link has android software at base which means linux in fact.
Some of you already mounted the software firmware file and seen inside the RS Display package.
First time when I said to roropastis that there are different firmwares i was wrong as you all found out.
It is the same firmware but the trick is that each unit has different settings on their local memory.
This is in fact the trick. What you see in the firmware update file is only part of what it is in the R-Link (indeed the root but no sys etc).
There is only one bit to change (from 0 to 1) in order to install on next boot the RS Display apk. Unforetunately that is in the local file system and none of you have access to it.
To do this you require real root access (adb or other means of communication with the unit on the car) and write permision on the initrd files and partition.
For those of you who have advanced linux knowledge know what i am talking about :)
This is what i am working on now and i have made an R-Link setup on the table with radio miu and display can etc (a bit complicated) to allow me to root it.
Even so i have not finished. The result will be a SD card that once you insert in the slot of the car, will update your unit once and after you will have RS Display.

So, if i understand, you'll use some kind of fake system update?

Not really fake. A real but modified update with right options

This is pretty smart, actually.
I'm eager to read more about that even if i'm not really concerned as i already have a functionnal rs monitor.

I didn't took the time but there is a UART port on the back of the screen that could give shell access and allow to change init param.

On aurait du y penser que juste le MIU ça ne suffirait pas : le type en Pologne ou Roumanie je ne sais plus n'a besoin que du RLink...

The UART port does not provide a shell but it's a u-boot sequence that certainly can be interrupted to set env params and add /bin/sh at the end of boot. (or boot from uart an extracted kernel from update)
And that should allow to mount local filesystem and edit some params (or copy actual init.rd file to sd card, back it up, update on laptop and push the new file)

Any u-boot expert? :)

I'm sorry for english, unfortunately my french written is bad, and my girlfriend (she is actually french and could write for me:)) she's not here....
I think i read the whole post a couple of time and i would like to share my experience with you.
I made my own guide on an italian forum for activating android auto, and also change boot logo of r-link and theme.
I have a Captur, so maybe it won't be possible for me, but a friend he has a megan 3 ph2. so even for help him, it could be enough for me.
For what i know, and what someone here already said, r-link is configured in more than one ecu. I can state for sure that there is a third ecu involved in r-link config. is the TCU ecu, that allowed me to "unlock" blocked apps as r-link store, tomtom live services and so on... It is not a real full unlock, cause now the icons aren't grey anymore and could be opened, but unfortunately, they gaves back communication error. Not much, but is not even nothing.
Now, what's the point, maybe, there are some other ecus involved to activate r.s. monitor. i think is more a matter of "right configured values" and not different rom... maybe we need to work with both ddt an clip to get the results. i will buy soon some other interface to get better access to ecus, and i'll share my progress.

Un peu occupé en ce moment (acaht + travaux maison) donc j'ai pas abandonné. J'ai regardé le contenu des packages rlink et j'ai pas trouvé de référence aux valeurs des calculateurs...

I'm a bit busy but still looking, I looked at the rlink packages and couldn't find any access to ECU values.... That would have helped... If someone interested I could share those files for research

Je voudrai partager aussi que j'ai trouvé sur github un mec qui a fait du reverse engeneering sur l'r-link. Cherche egonalter, il a fait un script pur ouvrir le .ttpkg TomTom puls de travail sur le kernel et sur U-Boot.
Sur le site de TomTom il y a aussi le open source de l'r-link... Je spere ca va te aider...

J'ai lu ce forum, je ne connais pas beaucoup le français, mais google m'a aidé.
RS MONITOR ainsi que r-link I mis à jour à LAGUNA III, je pense que comme vous tous ne travaillez pas les pointeurs de valeur, il n'y en a que quelques-uns. Le problème est probablement dans BIC, mais il est étrange que l'installation originale de MEGANE III Trophy soit définie sur Script 1 et qu'elle ne fonctionne pas dans les autres voitures. C'est pourquoi j'ai fait quelques tentatives avec le BIC pour télécharger les scripts 11 et 12. https://frantisek-kropicka.rajce.idnes. ... G_3804.jpg puis j'ai commencé ma RS MONITOR pour travailler. Mais encore une fois, il n'y a pas d'autres fonctions, mais vous n'êtes pas important (ECO monitor :-)), donc je pense que c'est très important pour BIC, qui communique avec CAN à MCAN. Ensuite, il est étrange que l'original n'ait pas ces scripts téléchargés, alors il pointerait vers des scripts directement dans R-LINK. Si j'ai pris tout l'ensemble de la Mégane Trophy et que je l'ai mis à Laguna, ça n'a pas marché. Alors maintenant je ne sais pas quoi chercher.
